Who is Yusuf Kavakri?
Yusuf Kavakli was born in Sivas in 1946. He graduated from his village primary school. He graduated from Istanbul Imam Hatip High School in 1970 and Istanbul Higher Islamic Institute in 1974.
On August 24, 1966, he began his career as Imam Hatip at the Bayrampasa Kartaltepe Shift Serefeli Mosque under the Eyup Mufti’s Office.
On December 17, 1975, he was appointed as a teacher of religious culture and ethics at Bayrampasa Industrial and Vocational High School, and in July 1977 at Zeytinburnu Imam Hatip High School.
He worked as a teacher and vice principal at Zeytinburnu Imam Hatip High School from 1977 to 1979.
He completed his military service from August 1, 1979 to November 30, 1980 as a reserve officer in the Ankara Mamak 229th Infantry Regiment.
After completing his military service, he took the auditor’s examination at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and was appointed auditor of the Istanbul Bakırköy Mufti in 1981.
In 1982, he was sent to Belgium by the President of the Religious Affairs as a religious studies teacher. He worked as a religion teacher in Belgium from 1982 to 1986.
