The Yolo County Community Services Department Environmental Health Division is pleased to announce the launch of the Food Safety Advisory Forum to guide Yolo County in fostering collaboration and dialogue among local food industry stakeholders, academia and residents.
The first meeting will be held on Monday, June 10th from 2pm to 3pm at the Department of Community Services complex at 292 W. Beamer St. in The Woodlands.
The Food Safety Advisory Forum will provide a platform for the Department of Environmental Health to work with retail food establishments and communities to address food safety challenges and share future program enhancements, according to a local press release. . The forum is held semi-annually and offers both in-person and virtual participation options to accommodate a variety of schedules and preferences.
April Meneghetti, director of environmental health for the Yolo County Department of Community Services, emphasized the mission behind this initiative: Through these food safety forums, we intend to strengthen communication with local stakeholders and consumers while increasing food safety awareness through education and collaboration. ”

The first meeting will serve as an introduction to the purpose of the forum and will open the discussion on strategies to improve food safety practices in Yolo County. Retail food industry professionals, consumers and members of academia are all invited to provide their insights and perspectives.
