CASPER, Wyo. – Wyoming Food Bank Executive Director Rachel Bailey is retiring from the organization to become director of philanthropy at the Wyoming Community Foundation.
According to a statement from the Wyoming Food Bank, Bailey’s term will be two years, ending June 19. Bailey previously served as executive director of the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra for 10 years.
“I’ve seen firsthand the incredible impact the Wyoming Food Bank has had across the state and I’ve been blessed to be a part of it for the past two years,” Bailey said in a statement. “I’m so proud of where Wyoming Food Bank is today. It’s so rewarding to see our team help people get the produce and food they need to feed themselves and their families. I look forward to bringing these community-centered experiences to our next endeavor.”
In a statement, the Wyoming Food Bank said it was “thrilled” to have Bailey given the opportunity of a lifetime at the Wyoming Community Foundation, which credits her leadership with increasing food distributions by more than 25 percent and a 33 percent increase in volunteer programs, among other things.
Jill Stillwagon, director of development for the Wyoming Food Bank, will serve as interim executive director during the transition period.
“I look forward to the impact she will continue to have on our community and I am sure we will meet again as we continue to serve Wyoming together,” Stillwagon said in a statement. “As interim director, I will remain committed to our goal of providing nutritious food and other resources to our Wyoming neighbors.”
The Wyoming Food Bank will begin searching for a new executive director this week. “The Wyoming Food Bank encourages community members to apply and share this opportunity,” the organization said.
