Tonight I want to share three notes on helping: one way you can help, and two ways others have helped earlier this week.
FOOD DRIVE: Admiral Church’s summer food drive begins tomorrow (Sunday, June 9).
This June we will be launching our annual Summer Food Drive. Our mission is to fight hunger, and we can’t do it alone. We will be partnering with both our local community and the White Center Food Bank. This effort not only provides immediate relief to those in need, but also fosters a sense of unity and shared responsibility within our community. We hope you will join us this summer. Let’s fight hunger together. For more information, please contact Susan Oatis at susanoatis1@gmail.com
World Environment Day: Last Wednesday at Pigeon Point Park, dozens of volunteers along with the Green Seattle Partnership, DNDA and others hosted a large work party to mark World Environment Day.
The site is part of the West Duwamish Greenbelt, Seattle’s largest contiguous forest. Art was also incorporated into Wednesday’s activities.
DNDA has many other volunteer opportunities planned as part of its efforts to combine arts, nature and community. View the calendar here.
100 Years of TLC for the Mount: Providence Mount St. Vincent sent us photos from Friday’s day of service, which included volunteers from both Deloitte and Providence.
According to the Mount, more than 70 volunteers took part, working in the grounds’ “common spaces, gardens and living quarters,” as part of the Mount’s 100th anniversary celebrations and Deloitte’s “Impact Day.”
