Minister of Family and Social Affairs Mahinur Ozdemir Göktas answered questions from reporters after the cabinet meeting.
Minister Göktaş responded to the allegations regarding the application for SCT-free vehicles.
Göktaş said new regulations were needed regarding the benefits provided to people with disabilities, saying:
“We will never introduce any regulations that victimize citizens with disabilities. We will continue to work to ensure that citizens with disabilities do not have negative experiences when purchasing a vehicle and are not deprived of the use of these rights. We cannot stand by and watch while our vehicles are misused. Support and benefits for people with disabilities.”
Family and Population Policy Bureau established
Göktaş stressed that the falling birth rate has led to new policies.
“We are considering a number of alternatives, such as expanding maternity leave, supporting childcare and eldercare processes, and flexible remote working. With the new model we are introducing, we aim to remove the obligation for women to choose between family life and work life. Policy on this issue will fall under the purview of the newly established Office of Family and Population Policy. “We will continue to pursue this issue in a variety of ways.”
Minister Göktaş also stressed the focus on new models that will contribute to the country’s development and increase women’s employment.
