Rize’s President Erdogan: I want to build a grand mosque in the city center
“Dear compatriots, I am very happy to be with you again in my hometown of Günes. May God help you and assist you. I hope that we will reach Rize by Sunday evening. I would like to see some of the work on housing here. I would like to see the work of the Municipal Hospital as well. Therefore, I would like to rapidly monitor the work of the Günes Hospital and the Rize Municipal Hospital and bring it to Rize as soon as possible. I would like it to reach my Rize.”
“We want to build a grand mosque in the heart of the city, Inshallah.”
Pointing to the Rize Coastal Mosque, which is located in a coastal reclamation area that has always been an issue due to corrosion caused by seawater in the past, Erdogan noted that it is misaligned and said the location of the mosque is inaccurate. The sliding mosque may be evaluated differently from the large mosque that will be built in Rize. Erdogan said, “We want to take these measures as soon as possible and build a grand mosque in the center of the city of Rize. Unfortunately, the existing mosque has collapsed. Now we want to build a grand mosque where the construction site is. “We want to do what is right for Rize with this grand mosque, and of course, after that grand mosque is completed, we will take measures in a different way regarding the existing mosque,” he said.
