American Heart Association
The Greater Knoxville Heart Walk is less than a month away. The event will raise funds to fight heart disease and stroke, while also helping to improve your own heart health by getting your feet moving and getting your blood pumping. Learn more at LETN.
Barre 3
Knoxville is home to two locally owned Barre3 fitness studios, a great place to feel part of the community through exercise. Barre3 is a total body balance workout that combines strength, cardio and mindfulness. On Saturday, July 27th, the studio will host a rooftop class in the morning, and on August 1st, we will celebrate the Hardin Valley studio’s one-year anniversary with free classes, local vendors, giveaways and more all day long.

Knoxville History Project
The Knox County Public Library and the Knoxville History Project are teaming up to present the “Birth of the National Parks” symposium this Thursday, July 25th through Saturday, July 27th.
One hundred years ago this year, the Great Smoky Mountains Conservancy was founded to advocate for the creation of a national park in the Smokies, and on Friday and Saturday there will be multiple speakers and walking tours to promote the Smokies and talk about the efforts to create a national park.
On Thursday at 7 p.m., Central Cinema will screen “Stark Love,” a 1927 film starring a Knoxville native and filmed in the Smoky Mountains.
On Friday, starting at 7 p.m., The Bijou will be screening rare photographs and films shot in the Smoky Mountains in the 1920s, along with live music.
