MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Shocking surveillance footage shows a man speeding through the Cordova Pit Stop Food Truck Park in a pickup truck on Friday evening. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured in the accident.

Memphis police said the gunman is in jail. The target of the attack told FOX 13 that things got out of hand when he tried to stop the suspect from drinking alcohol.
Park owner Mark Mohmer said about 60 people were in the park at the time of the incident, and that the suspect, Alton Turner, had been there for about two hours and had been drinking and was acting aggressively.
Moemer said he went to a nearby bar and told the bartender to stop serving Turner, at which point Turner struck Moemer with his truck.
“I mean, he literally tried to run us over,” Mohmer said. “If any of our guests had been standing right next to the window at the time, he would have killed them.”
Mohmer said he was standing under a gazebo next to his food trailer when Turner’s truck crashed through a fence. Mohmer said he jumped into his trailer for cover as others dodged. Surveillance video shows the truck slamming into Mohmer’s trailer.
“I hit his truck and the refrigerator and it knocked me down and I fell across the truck,” he said.
Mohmer said when he got up he could see Turner’s tires were still spinning and smoking.
“Watching him, he’s steadily stepping on the gas and still cumming,” he said.
Surveillance footage showed Turner walking away, while he was yelling for someone to call 911, Mohmer said.
Turner is then seen walking back towards the truck. Mowmer said he warned Turner to back off but he did not comply. Mowmer is then seen throwing one punch, knocking Turner unconscious.
“I don’t think violence is the right way to go. I would rather pray for you,” Mohmer said. “I had no other option. I had to think about not only myself, but my children and my customers. I couldn’t let that man get back in his truck.”
Mohmer said his food truck sustained about $30,000 worth of damage, but he has already repaired some of it. The park’s fence has been knocked down. The gazebo Mohmer was standing in is so damaged it will have to be torn down. Mohmer said he is bruised and has trouble walking, but nothing is broken.
Turner, who Moemer said owns a food truck and was driving it to the park, has been charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault and is being held on $75,000 bail.
“I think the charges are reasonable,” Mohmer said. “I think the bail is a little low.” Mohmer told FOX 13 one of the reasons he agreed to be interviewed was so people know this was an isolated incident and his food truck park is not a problem area.
“That’s not what Cordova Pit Stop was designed to do. It was designed to be a place where you can get a taste of the world in one place,” Mohmer said. “Bring your friends, bring your family, bring your kids. You can bring your dogs, but keep them on a leash.”
The food truck park was open throughout the weekend. Moemer doesn’t believe the incident will affect the future of his business. Turner is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning.
