Plus Truth – Victory Party Chairman Umit Ozdag came to the CHP headquarters at 12 noon today and visited Republican People’s Party (CHP) Chairman Ozgür Ozer. After the meeting, the two leaders issued a press statement.
The controversy, which erupted after Turkish national team player Merih Demiral celebrated his goal against Austria at the Euro 2024 European Championship with a “Grey Wolf” salute, also took place during Zafer Party chairman Umit Ozdag’s visit to Turkey, CHP chairman Ozgur Özer said.
At a joint press conference between Ozdag and Ezer after the meeting, the two politicians were asked for their opinions on the issue, to which Ozdag responded by putting up a “Grey Wolf” sign at the CHP headquarters.
“Bozkurt” sign from Ozdai
Ozdaf, who made the “Grey Wolf” sign when asked by reporters about Merih Demiral’s delight with the Grey Wolf, said: “It would be better for Germany to deal with those who make the Hitler sign. The Grey Wolf sign.”
“Deniz Naki” Reminder from Ozel
Ozgür Özer also responded to the same question, saying, “We don’t think it is right for UEFA to take action. But expanding and inciting this debate in Turkey will harm the national team in the first place. A few years ago, there was another footballer who made a victory sign, but today he was lynched by people who defended this sign. “It is necessary to invite questioning,” he replied.
The Kaiser attack
Key points from CHP leader Ozgur Ezer’s speech include:
“Turkey has a problem with irregular and illegal migration and we said that after the end of this electoral process, as the CHP, we will take the strongest initiative to solve this problem. Those who did not follow us when we said ‘Let’s meet,’ I said ‘We are talking with all our interlocutors about holding a meeting with Bashar Assad, stabilizing Syria and removing each refugee from Syria through military action.’ It is the EU’s responsibility.”
Two Proposals from the Victory Party
Umit Ozdag said, “Our most important challenge is without a doubt the 13 million refugees, illegal immigrants, 1,000-1,200 people who cross the border into Turkey every day and disperse in each province. We had some specific proposals that require legal regulation. Thank you, they listened with interest, took notes and evaluated. One of them is Turkey’s proposal to withdraw from the Ottawa Agreement, and the other is the expansion of military forces. The power of the troops to use weapons on the border is to make Turkey safer, he said, and “I hope that our discussions will continue accordingly.”
The Zafer Party delegation accompanying Özdah included Zafer Party Secretary General Cezmi Polat and Deputy Chair for Health Policy Prof. Cezmi Polat. Dr. Ali Şehirlioğlu, Deputy Chair for Legal Affairs Atty Murat Yıldız and Deputy Chair for Women, Family and Children Policy Esmaul Hüsna Aslan were in attendance. CHP Chairman Özer was accompanied by CHP Secretary General Selin Sayek Boğke, Deputy Chair Gül Çifç, Gamze Tashçul and Aylin Nazlaká. (News Centre)
