Following the report, five aircraft, 13 helicopters, 35 water tankers, seven water vehicles and four bulldozers belonging to the Izmir Regional Forestry Directorate were dispatched to the area.
The Regional Forestry Directorate reported that the fire broke out at 12:53 p.m. and the first response took place at 1:05 p.m.
Teams are working to bring the fire under control with air and ground intervention.

The residents were evacuated
The teams from the Regional Forestry Directorate are also supported by TOMAs from various municipal fire brigades and provincial police stations.
The fire led to the evacuation of some homes in the wooded area, and military police sounded sirens in residential areas and urged residents to leave the area.

Some homeowners in the area tried to prevent the fire by spraying hoses on their roofs, cars and property.

In the rural Chamenyu district, where the flames were closing in, residents of some homes had been evacuated as a precaution, he said.

The Defense Ministry said three Turkish Armed Forces Cougar and two Turkish CH-47 helicopters had been assigned to help with the ongoing firefighting efforts in Izmir.

“The intervention of teams from the Regional Forestry Directorate and the fire brigade, supported by the municipality team, continues in the fire that broke out at noon and affected the Dermendere, Çamenü and Ataköy neighborhoods. We hope that this disaster will end safely. Get better as soon as possible, my compatriots.”

The flames spread to the house
As efforts continue to tackle the fire, which broke out in forests at the top of the fields in the Çamenü and Şashar districts of Menderes region, the blaze has spread to houses.
The fire at a house in Chamenu district has been put out but the house sustained damage.

Selcuk
A fire of unknown cause broke out in a forest area at Pamçak site along the Selçuk-Kusadasi highway.
Following the report, four aircraft, five helicopters, 18 water tankers, five water vehicles and five bulldozers belonging to the Izmir Regional Forestry Directorate were dispatched.
The fire broke out at 5:12pm, with the first response reported at 5:20pm.

Road closure
As a result of the fire, the Selçuk-Kusadasi highway in Alvalya district was closed to traffic.
Teams are continuing their efforts to extinguish the fire.

Minister Yumakli makes statement
Agriculture and Forestry Minister Ibrahim Yumakli said in a statement on his social media account that the fight against the forest fires in Izmir continues.
Yumakli said 11 aircraft, 27 helicopters, 972 personnel, 171 water tankers and work machines had been dispatched to the areas to fight the fires in Izmir’s Selçuk, Menderes, Torbali, Menemen and Cesme districts.

The fire broke out in a grassland adjacent to the Izmir-Cesme Highway in Urla district.
Due to the fire, the lane from Izmir to Cesme was closed for about 20 minutes. After the team’s intervention, the road was reopened to traffic.

A fire of unknown origin broke out on farmland in the village of Yenikoy in Edin district.

Following reports of the fire, where smoke was visible from Bozcaada, fire brigades from the Çanakkale Regional Forestry Office, Ejin city and Geykli city were dispatched to the area.

Two villages evacuated
The fire spread over a wide area in a short space of time, and evacuations were initiated as a precautionary measure in the villages of Yenikoy and Üvecik, which are home to summer cottages and sheep sheds.
Firefighting efforts are continuing with the assistance of helicopters and aircraft in areas where wind is effective.

Due to winds, the fire reached local forests and the port facilities of the Akkansa cement factory, where part of the factory was engulfed in flames.
