This Morning’s Craig Doyle and Josie Gibson were horrified after a woman detailed her surgical nightmare.
The broadcaster interviewed Michelle Heath, who issued a warning against people traveling to Turkey for cosmetic surgery. Michelle traveled abroad in August 2021 to undergo surgery to remove her excess skin after losing 10 stone.
The 41-year-old decided to travel abroad because his treatment in the UK would have cost him £4,000 instead of £20,000. But his experience turned into a nightmare when a surgeon performed liposuction and a Brazilian bum lift (BBL) without her permission.

She said, “This is the most dangerous cosmetic procedure you can have because it goes directly into your veins and can cause an embolism in your heart. I didn’t know it happened to me until the first day.” said.
Michelle researched the surgeon before booking the surgery and said he was certified on a UK website. She explained that she had no red flags until she left the operating room.
She said: “They were asking for money for the medicine, and I had already paid for it. My luggage was supposed to stay at the hospital for two nights and the rest back at the hotel, but after the first night, I had to pay for it. This was at 11am and we were told the transfer to the hotel was at 4pm so we just had to sit at the reception.
Mr Craig described it as a “horror show” as Michelle was unable to sit due to complications from her BBL surgery and had to be upgraded to business class. She thanked her friend Amanda for allowing her to receive treatment in the UK after she smelled “rotten flesh”.
Michelle was rushed to A&E for emergency surgery within 24 hours of returning home. She said, “The severe liposuction left blood clots in her legs. We ended up having skin grafts on the inside of her thighs as well.”
He warned that Foreign and Commonwealth Office figures show that since January 2019, 22 British nationals have died in Turkey following medical tourism visits. She said, “Don’t do that. You’re just taking away too much of an opportunity.”
Mr Craig read out a statement from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, which said: “If you are traveling to Turkey for medical treatment, we recommend that you refer to the Turkish Health Portal site, which lists health care providers approved by the Turkish Ministry of Health,” Health. “
