Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on July 23 presented the Union Budget for 2024-25. Along with this, she announced that the central government would provide support for the development of certain tourist destinations in Odisha. “Tourism has always been a part of our civilisation. Our efforts to position India as a global tourist destination will create jobs and generate opportunities in other sectors as well,” she said.
Announcing support for the development of Odisha, she said, “We are committed to supporting tourism in the state which has beautiful landscapes, temples, craftsmanship, natural landscapes, wildlife sanctuaries and pristine beaches.”
