A tradition of elegance has returned to Mortensen Riverfront Plaza.
HARTFORD, Conn. — Riverfront Recapture brings its annual Riverfront Food Truck Festival to the banks of the Connecticut River and in downtown Hartford, and with the weather improving after several days of summer heat that left much of the state sweating, this year’s Food Truck Festival is shaping up to be a blast.
“We’re hoping for great weather all three days and that we’ll have thousands of people come,” said Riverfront ReCapture spokeswoman Tara Kanter. “We’ll also have a lot of people from Connecticon and the jazz festival, so it’s going to be a busy weekend here.”
Kanter added that there are 28 registered food trucks, 11 vendors selling items such as jewelry and clothing, plus a Mohegan Sun Tent featuring chef demos.

Franco Bernardo, owner of six New Haven Pizza Trucks, said he always makes sure one of his trucks comes to the Riverfront Food Truck Festival. “We come every year and a lot of people come,” he said.
“We come to Hartford because it’s a great place, the people are great, the customers are great and it’s just a great place,” added Bernardo, as customers lined up for his specialty New Haven-style pies.
This year’s Riverfront Food Truck Festival will take place from Thursday, July 18th to Saturday, July 20th at Mortensen Riverfront Plaza from 11am to 8pm. Live music will be performed on the Riverfront Park stage each day. Click here for more information.
