The Boston Red Sox defeated the New York Yankees 9-3 on Sunday night at Fenway Park, a victory that saw the Red Sox go on a rampage, stealing a franchise-record nine bases.
According to Sarah Langs of MLB.com, they’ve become a rare breed in baseball history.

Jarren Duran stole two bases for his 17th of the season, Dom Smith stole his first base, Sedan Raffaella stole his ninth of the season and David Hamilton stole four bases for his 18th of the season. Bobby Dalbec also contributed to the win, adding one stolen base.
The Red Sox currently lead the American League in stolen bases, and all of those bases have come from the arm of Yankees catcher Jose Trevino.
With this record-breaking win, the Red Sox now have a 37-35 record this season. The Yankees are currently the best team in baseball at 50-24, but they had a disappointing weekend against their rivals, losing two of their three games.
Boston finished last in the American League East last season but is currently in third place in the division, 12.0 games behind the Yankees and 3.0 games back in the race for the final wild card spot.
Boston will begin a new series on the road to Toronto to take on the Blue Jays on Monday night, with Canadian pitcher Nick Pivetta facing off against Boston left-hander Yusei Kikuchi.
