The perpetrator who killed Sedef Güler, wrapped him in a carpet and threw him into the sea was arrested in Edirne.
He confessed to the crime during interrogation.
During questioning, the suspect is known to have stated, “After consuming alcohol and drugs, I noticed that Sedef Gular was not breathing the morning after, so I wrapped him in a carpet and threw him into the sea.”
After his interrogation with the Gendarmerie, Yavuz G. was sent to court.
During the investigation, security cameras recorded Yavuz G. and the murdered Sedef Güler entering a house together.

Fishermen discovered the carpet that had been thrown into the sea in the Mimarcinan Merkez district in the morning of June 7. After noticing a body inside the carpet, the fishermen called the police.
When the police team arrived at the scene and pulled the body from the sea, they found that weights had been tied to its legs.
Examination revealed that the body was that of a 24-year-old woman named Sedef Güler.
Following developments, Sedef Güler’s mobile phone records were used to identify the young woman’s last known contact, and all security cameras in the area were also checked.

An investigation revealed that Sedef Güler’s family had filed a missing person’s report at Avcilar Police Station approximately 12 hours before the woman’s body was discovered. Sedef Güler’s family identified the body at the Forensic Medicine Institute.
As a result of their investigation, police have identified three people involved in the incident. Two of the suspects who were detained in connection with the case four days ago were Firat B. and Onur O. After proceedings at the police station, he was transferred to the Büyükçekmece Court.
One of the suspects, Firat B., was arrested ex officio under the Criminal Justice of the Peace Act, while Onur O. was released under judicial control provisions.
