The New York Yankees lost three straight games to the Baltimore Orioles and Atlanta Braves, but slugging outfielder Juan Soto made baseball history earlier this week.
According to Baseball Reference on social media:
Juan Soto earned his 700th career walk Thursday.
He is the first player in our database to reach that milestone under the age of 26.

Soto won’t turn 26 until late October, so he’ll have plenty of time to add to his career total over the remainder of this season.
Soto, one of the best hitters in baseball, made his major league debut at age 19 in 2018. He has already led the majors in walks in three of his six major league seasons and is already leading the majors this year with 60.
Soto’s acumen has helped him lead the major leagues with an on-base percentage of .428, and he also leads all active players with an on-base percentage of .422.
Soto, a three-time All-Star who seems destined to represent the American League in Arlington this summer, is a four-time Silver Slugger Award winner, batting champion and World Series champion (2019).
Soto is batting .304 with 18 home runs this season and has gelled well with the Yankees. He and Aaron Judge have been one of the best duos in baseball and are a big reason why the Yankees are confident of winning their first World Series since 2009.
