The presidential decree, published in the Official Gazette, dismissed National Supervisory Committee Chairman Yunus Arunci and appointed Salih Tanlikul as his successor. Uşak, Düzce, Tunceli and Sirnak Provincial Director of National Education were also dismissed. Sinop Provincial Director of National Education Osman Sebeci was allowed to continue in his position.
In accordance with Articles 2, 3, and 4 of Presidential Decree No. 3 and Article 10 of Presidential Decree No. 5, a decision signed by President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Yunus Arunci was dismissed as Chairman of the National Supervisory Committee and replaced by Salih Tanrikul.

The heads of the national education departments of the provinces of Uşak, Duzce, Tunceli and Şırnak were also dismissed and new names were appointed. The names dismissed and appointed in the provincial directorates of national education are as follows:
– Halil Yusel has been appointed as the new head of the Uşak Province State Education Agency, replacing Bülent Şahin.
– Emrullah Aydin has been appointed as the new head of the Düzce Provincial National Education Agency, replacing Tamer Kurbac.
Fethi Ateş was appointed as the new head of the Tunceli Provincial State Education Agency, replacing Gürsel Ekmekci.
– Nazan Shener, head of the National Education Department of Sirnak Province, was dismissed from his post.
It was decided that Osman Sebeci, head of the Sinop Provincial National Education Bureau, will continue in his position.
Who is National Supervisory Committee Chairman Salih Tanlıklı?
Salih Tanrıklı was born in Ankara in 1974 and graduated from the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Political Science, Ankara University in 1996, and then obtained a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Illinois, USA.
Tanrikul joined the public service in 1997 as Deputy Specialist to the Prime Minister, and from 1998 served as Revenue Secretary, Head of the Revenue Management Group, Chief Inspector General of Taxation and Deputy Chairman of the Tax Inspection Board at the Ministry of Finance.
Within the scope of his professional activities, Mr. Tanrikul has represented the country at the OECD and EU Fiscal Working Groups and served as Financial Adviser to the Permanent Representation of Turkey to the European Union (Brussels) and as a member of the NATO Supervisory Committee in 2013 and 2015.
Appointed as a Presidential DDK member in 2015, Tanrikul served as chairman of the National Emergency Procedures Review Committee from 2017 to January 2023.

Tanlukulu is married and the father of three children.
