Emre Okur, who lives in Ankara, went to Istanbul to buy a car for his wife. Okur made an agreement with the dealer and bought a new car that he liked. A month after buying the car, Okur noticed that something was wrong and consulted an expert. When he saw the report, he got the shock of his life.
No replacement parts, fully painted
According to the expert report, the vehicle, which had few parts that could not be replaced, was also completely repainted. Okur, who is also involved in the car spare parts business, said, “Of course, it was a shock at first. I couldn’t understand what was going on because I had bought a new car. It’s secondary if you sell a car. Now it’s a wrecked vehicle and it’s being sold to us as a new car.”
“It was a new car so I didn’t get to try it out.”
“When I bought the car, my friend was with me. He said, ‘Let’s get it inspected,’ but considering I was buying a new car, I didn’t get it inspected at all,” Okul told ATV News.
The dealer who sold it to me said, “I’ll give you 50,000 TL.”
Okur applied to the authorised dealer where he originally bought his car and was told he could have the car replaced, but was then disappointed again.
“They stalled for four months. After four months they came up with the figure of TL50,000,” Okul said, starting legal proceedings.
He went to court
The dealer then offered him a new 100,000 TL. The reader insisted on exchanging the car for a new one to make up for his losses, but began to wait for the court’s decision.
Lawyer Asiye Meltem Taşç also said: “At this point there is almost nothing that cannot be changed on the vehicle. Every part of the vehicle has been changed. Even the offer of 400,000 to 500,000 TL will not cover the damages.”
