A tornado ripped through the area on the afternoon of July 4th. The Parkland neighborhood on the city’s west side bore the brunt of the damage. Dare to Care, a local food bank, said the tornado came within a mile of their community kitchen. On Tuesday, they will use it to help anyone affected. The food pantry will open at 2 p.m. No closing time was given. They hope to provide food, including fresh produce, and connect affected families to future support. The Dare to Care Community Kitchen is located at 1200 S. 28th St. Another tornado struck Harrison County, Indiana, about 30 miles west of Louisville that day.
