Hello, Chicago.
A former state child welfare caseworker was sentenced today to six months in prison and 30 months probation for child endangerment in the 2019 beating death of 5-year-old Crystal Lake boy, AJ Freund.
Carlos Acosta was also ordered by Lake County Judge George Stickland to donate $1,000 to the McHenry County Children’s Advocacy Center and perform 200 hours of community service.
