CHP’s Bolu Mayor Tancu Ozcan responded to Kılıçdaroğlu, claiming that former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu had uttered the words “I have 50 loyal deputies.”
To Özcan Kılıçdaroğlu: “I want you to remember… this time last year I was marching to Ankara in the name of ‘CHANGE’! Everyone was almost silent! You are the one who gave up your seat to me at the end of the walk.” “He is showing his love for his seat in parliament and now he has 50 loyal members! You are a god.” “Are you the leader of a sect?” he said.
Kılıçdaroğlu also responded harshly to Ozkan’s remarks, stating, “Tanju, how much resentment you have inside you…keep that resentment alive and be afraid! When that day comes, I don’t want you to attend my funeral…what a pity, for the effort I gave you…”
The CHP statement on the issue was released by party spokesman Deniz Yucel.

In a statement released via his X account, Yucel made the following remarks:
“We have unfortunately witnessed how Mayor Tancu Ozkan of Bolu used hurtful and offensive language on social media against former chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, going beyond the limits of criticism.
The Republican People’s Party is the political party of people who are committed to the values of the Republic, the principles of Atatürk and the revolution, and who love the country and the nation. Republican members of parliament are not loyal to any individual, but primarily to the Constitution, the country, and the ideas and values that the party defends.
You are free to express any opinion within the bounds of criticism and respect. However, we would never approve of sharing any post about the former CHP Chairman in a way that goes beyond the bounds of criticism, regardless of who he is, his job or his position.
Kılıçdaroğlu denied making any statements that had provoked a public reaction. Nevertheless, he did not make any statements in good faith that were intended to incite the issue. “We will evaluate this issue in a competent committee of our party,” he said.
