“Tancu Ozkan” statement by CHP spokesman Yucel
CHP spokesman Deniz Yucel said remarks made by Bolu Mayor Tancu Ozcan about former CHP chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu would be evaluated by the party’s empowered board of directors.

“We regretfully witnessed that Bolu Mayor Tancu Ozkan used harmful and offensive language on social media that went beyond the limits of criticism against former chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu,” CHP spokesman Yusel said in a statement on his social media account. “The Republican People’s Party is a party of people who respect the values of the Republic, are committed to the principles and revolution of Ataturk and love the country and nation.”
Republican MPs are not loyal to individuals, but primarily to the Constitution, the country and the ideas and values that the party defends. Any idea can be expressed freely, provided it is within the bounds of criticism and respect. However, regardless of who he is, his office or position, we would never approve sharing a post about the former CHP chairman in a way that goes beyond the limits of criticism. Kılıçdaroğlu denied making any statements by himself that invited a public reaction. Nevertheless, we do not see any statements made in good faith that were intended to incite the issue. “We will evaluate this issue in a competent committee of our party,” he said.
