Albania and Spain faced off in Düsseldorf as part of the final Group B match of EURO 2024. Spain beat their opponents 1-0 thanks to an early goal.
The goal that gave Spain the victory was scored by Ferran Torres in the 13th minute.
Spain finished their group with nine points from three wins and three losses and advanced to the next round. Albania, whose performance in the group was highly praised, said goodbye to the tournament with one point after three matches.
A few minutes into the match
In the 12th minute, Merino headed the ball after an attack from the right wing by Spain, but it was cleared by Albania’s goalkeeper Strakosha.
GOAL | In the 13th minute, Olmo’s pass behind the defence found the ball diagonally to the right of the penalty area, where Ferran Torres stylishly slotted it in with his left foot to give Spain a 1-0 lead.

In the 36th minute, after Albania had failed to clear the ball from the danger area, a return from the right wing was played back to Olmo, who was well positioned but was unable to control it as he wanted, and the Albanian defence stepped in and shot the ball into a corner.
In the 41st minute, Grimaldo crossed from the left wing and Ferran Torres headed it into the back post, but it just went over the goal.
In the 44th minute, Grimaldo received the ball on the left wing and Merino took a shot from inside the penalty area, but it went wide.
Albania’s goalkeeper Raya saved an effective shot from outside the penalty area by Aslerani in the 45th minute to deny the goal.
The first half of the match ended with Spain leading 1-0.
In the 47th minute, Joselu took a brilliant shot from Grimaldo’s cross from the left side of the goal area, but it went wide.
