AKP Spokesman Celik’s “Tax Package” Statement: “We should not rely on such speculations”
This is also a development that threatens Syria’s national security and will be responded to accordingly. In our opinion, it is correct to state, referring to the UN Security Council decision, that accurate, fair and transparent elections will not be held in any form. We cannot allow developments that bring the pain of the past to our eyes.
“Tax Reform” Package
Within the scope of the medium-term program, various issues are being discussed to ensure tax justice. Statements such as “taxes will be imposed everywhere” that have been leaked on social media are speculations.
An investigation will be conducted to ensure tax justice. The final decision will be taken by political will. We would like to point out that one should not rely on such speculations that have not been officially announced.
While aiming for tax fairness, it is evaluated with great care to ensure that inflation does not occur and does not affect the production, employment and export processes. Our economic management is very clear and transparent, and a world-acceptable program that solves Turkey’s problems is implemented. The support of our President is at a high level.
ŞİMŞEK-Karate Meeting
In response to a question about his meetings with CHP Deputy Chairman Yalçin Karatėpe and Minister of Finance and Treasury Mehmet Şimşek, Prime Minister Çelik said:
“We have a confident government, so in the mid-term plan that we have implemented for the economy, Turkey is generating the necessary results to generate the right benefits and send the right message to the world. The information about this will of course be provided by our cabinet. These are things that the government knows, these are things that the ministry already knows,” he said, a problem he is working on. Something is put on the agenda by the opposition. They say, “We put it on the agenda and it’s done,” and “We made a proposal, but it was not accepted.”
Overseas departure fee
In response to a question about the expected increase in international departure fees, Çelik said, “Everything that has been discussed is written at the draft level. None of it is valid until the final decision is made. Sometimes this happens: a presentation is made there, a presentation is made there.” The drafts are then one of them “leaks and becomes a matter of speculation. The main objective here is regulations to eliminate inequities in income distribution and tax justice. I would like to say that all this is legitimate. Until those meetings are held and the results are announced, it is speculation.”
Greek-Turkish relations
Referring to ongoing negotiations with Greece, Foreign Minister Celik said, “The development of the Aegean Sea and relations with Greece have always been on our agenda. Problems continue, but cooperation is on the agenda. The dialogue process continues. The first round of negotiations has been achieved within the country. “Regarding the framework for Turkish-Greek cooperation, he said, “There was a joint recommendation to the OSCE. This was reported as a common position, which emerged as a result of the dialogue that has developed recently.”
