ST. CLOUD (WJON News) — Stearns History Museum unveiled a new exhibit Saturday. The museum celebrated its 40th anniversary with a ceremony called “Homecoming at Last: The Making of Stearns History Museum” on the museum square at 1 p.m.

“Home at Last” details the history of the museum and the Stearns County Historical Society. Stearns Historical Museum Executive Director Amy Dargerstrom said the exhibit was designed to educate visitors about the museum’s history and the event was well-attended.
“We invited the whole community, so we had no idea who would come. We thought we’d have about 50 guests, so we were very happy that so many more people showed up than we expected.”

Degerstrom said this year is the 40th anniversary and the main gallery is hosting an ’80s exhibit, “Home at Last,” with more fun ’80s activities planned for the future. Stearns History Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
