Value menus are making a comeback in the fast-food industry, and Starbucks has decided to join the price war.
The coffee chain has introduced a unique value menu called the “pairing menu” with several combination options for Starbucks customers.
The new Starbucks pairing menu offers sets ranging from $5 to $7 depending on your coffee pairing preferences.

Starbucks Pairing Menu Options
The pairing menu option allows you to add a croissant or breakfast sandwich to your tall-sized basic drink, like so:
Tall Drink and Croissant, $5: Order a tall hot or iced coffee or tea and add a buttery croissant for $5.
Tall drink with breakfast sandwich, $6-7: Order a tall hot or iced coffee or tea and add a breakfast sandwich for $6 or $7, depending on the sandwich.
For $6, you can choose from sandwiches like the sausage, cheddar and egg sandwich, the bacon, gouda and egg sandwich, the turkey bacon, cheddar and egg white sandwich or the chicken, maple butter and egg sandwich. For $7, you can upgrade your sandwich to the double smoked bacon or the Impossible Breakfast Sandwich.
Customers can also pay to upgrade or customize their drink size.
Value menu is back
These days, deals, promotions and freebies are all the rage for fast-food and fast-casual chains competing for customer attention and revenue.
Wendy’s recently announced a $3 breakfast combo featuring an English muffin sandwich with egg, cheese, bacon or sausage, and seasoned fries. This is in addition to exclusive promotions like a free chicken nugget deal every week on the Wendy’s app and a one-cent Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger for National Burger Day, May 28-June 2.
McDonald’s has also pledged to cut prices and has expressed interest in exploring more ways to win back customers, such as $5 meal bundles and freebies.
Burger King has announced that it will be offering $5 meal sets this month, ahead of McDonald’s.
