With the Fourth of July holiday falling on a Thursday, many Americans may be looking for deals and events near their hometowns.
A record number of drivers and air travelers are expected to take time off during the holiday week, according to AAA, but some people might be considering a staycation over the Fourth of July holiday.
Nearly all U.S. adults (86%) who have experienced a staycation or are interested in experiencing one believe the Fourth of July is the perfect time for a staycation, according to a survey conducted by research firm Prodege for Tito’s Handmade Vodka, which is running its “Staycation with Tito’s” social media campaign.
Because travel can be expensive, some people may be tempted to “spend their money on a big party that won’t cost as much as a holiday weekend getaway,” Katie Thomas, president of the Kearney Consumer Research Institute, told USA Today.
While celebrants may be on the lookout for bargains, Thomas said, “Since the pandemic, people are leaning more into celebrations, whatever the holiday.”
No matter the size of your celebration, here are some great Independence Day getaway ideas.
