SUN Bucks are not available to all Americans who receive SNAP because they are not offered in some states.
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is set to start distributing food stamps as early as July 1. In fact, some states, including Vermont, Rhode Island, Alaska and North Dakota, will start distributing the full amount on the first of the month, meaning there will be no other payments in those states.
Conversely, if you live in Texas or Florida and receive SNAP, you may have until July 28. Depending on how your state administers food stamps, you may need to verify a variety of information, including your SSN, EDG, case number, and the first letter of your last name.

How can SNAP recipients check the status of their EBT card reload?
Check your EBT balance on your receipt. Stores often print receipts after SNAP purchases. Keep your receipts so you can easily track your balance. Use your state’s mobile app or website. Many states offer these services. These services show your EBT balance and transactions. In Virginia, use the ConnectEBT app or www.connectebt.com. Call EBT customer service. Dial the toll-free number on your card. Enter your card number. You will then hear your balance. The number in Virginia is 1-866-281-2448. Check your balance on a point-of-sale device in a store. Some stores have these machines in their customer service areas. Swipe your card before you shop to check your balance. Contact your state SNAP office. Call or visit to inquire about your balance and recharge times.
Each month, your SNAP benefits are added to your EBT card on a specific date, even on weekends and holidays. This date is linked to your case number. Before you make a purchase, check your balance to make sure it covers your purchases. If it doesn’t, you can pay the difference with another method. If you lose or damage your EBT card, contact Customer Service immediately. We will deactivate your EBT card and issue you a new one.
SNAP Maximums in 48 States
If you meet all income, work and residency requirements, you can receive up to $1,751, the maximum Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefit for eight people.
SNAP recipients who have other sources of income may be eligible for reductions, so their benefits may be lower. For example, the average food stamp benefit for two people is just $372, but the maximum benefit is $535.
A family of four can receive a SNAP check worth up to $973, with the average being about $713. Even if you don’t need food stamps, you may want to help someone who needs food assistance by helping them apply for monthly payments.
