SAN ANTONIO (March 7, 2024) — San Antonio International Airport (SAT) is anticipating another record spring break travel season. From Friday, March 8 to Sunday, March 12, approximately 343,000 travelers will travel to and from the SAT, an increase of 9% compared to the same period last year.
“We want to make it easy for everyone to experience flying with SAT, so we are preparing as always,” said Jesus Saenz, SAT’s airport director. “Most local school districts are implementing the same spring break period this year, and that’s definitely impacted travel. People are planning ahead, considering their parking options, and arriving early. need to do it.”

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is taking additional steps to help you pass through checkpoints more efficiently and wants travelers to know:
TSA has enough personnel to keep lanes open and provide the screening needed for the anticipated increase in travellers. With the addition of new testing equipment, travelers no longer need to remove items such as liquids and electronic devices from their luggage. Travelers must have a government-issued photo ID available upon arrival at the checkpoint.
Last year’s spring break, the five most popular SAT destinations were:
Las Vegas New York City (all airports combined) Dallas Metroplex (all airports combined) Orlando Denver
Jacob Tyler, SAT’s air service development manager, said the increased choice of flights on competitive routes from SAT has resulted in lower fares.
“There’s never been a more affordable time to travel,” Tyler says. “Since last May, we have broken monthly records every month in a row. This is good news for our community, as more people are taking trips they have been putting off and Because you’ll be able to travel more to the places you want to go, we’re pleased to announce that this March we’ll be offering more scheduled flights to the majority of SAT destinations than last year. .”
