According to the news from Milliyet newspaper, negotiations with Cenk, who returned home after his national team’s defeat in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024, are due to begin soon.
It is understood that both the Besiktas management and the experienced striker are open to a new deal.
It has been reported that the black managers will offer the national team player the salary figure signed by Salif and negotiations will begin based on this figure.
It was also emphasised that although both sides want a new contract, many teams want Cenk in case issues arise and that the experienced striker will meet with them even in unfavourable circumstances.
Last season, Cenk played in 46 games across the Trendior Super League, Zirat Turkish Cup and UEFA Europa Conference League, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists.
The experienced striker had 25 minutes of chances in both European Championship matches, scoring one goal.
