Rio Ferdinand unveiled his new hair and beard transplant for the first time on TV ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League game against Luton at Kenilworth Road on Saturday.
The England and Manchester United legend recently visited Dr. Çinik Hospital in Istanbul to receive treatment.
Ferdinand took part in TNT Sports’ coverage of the Premier League match, alongside fellow pundit team Jermaine Jenas.
“I came here to get my beard trimmed. It has some holes and some spots,” Ferdinand said in a social media video released by Dr. Shinnik last week.
“Get your hair transplant surgery done. I can’t wait to get it done. Listen, if you’re looking to get your work done, this is the place to be.

The 90-second video shows the various stages of the hair replacement treatment he underwent.
The video showed Ferdinand arriving at the clinic wearing shades, greeting Dr. Muhamed Emra Chinik, and undergoing various stages of hair replacement treatment.
At the end of the video, he was seen signing a Manchester United shirt, in addition to similar memorabilia given to him by other footballers who had visited the clinic in the past.
He posted a photo with his wife Kate on Instagram.
According to Dr Sinique Hospital’s website, Ryan Babel and Bakary Sagna were also there for hair transplants, while David Trezeguet and Diego Lugano were there for dental work.
Ferdinand excitedly announced on social media on Saturday morning that he would be “back to work” after the Christmas break.

Ferdinand and his wife Kate (32) have two children, a son named Cree and a daughter named Shay.
He had three children with his first wife, Rebecca Ellison, Lorenz, Tate, and Tia, but she died of breast cancer in 2015 at the age of 34.
Ferdinand’s former England and United teammate Wayne Rooney also underwent a hair transplant in 2011 and again in 2013.
The former England star said during his first game: “I was 25 and almost bald, so why not?” I’m satisfied with this result. ”

Back in 2021, Ferdinand revealed that he used brown dye to cover up gray hair on his face, but insisted he was not “ashamed” of the aging process.
He said on the Midpoint podcast with Gabby Logan: Gray hair grows there. I’ll dye it. I think it looks better too.
“I’m not ashamed to have gray hair and I don’t care about it, but I look better when it’s all one color.”
“If it all went gray, even if my whole beard went gray, I’d leave it alone. But it’s like a patchwork. I like it, that distinct look. , I wouldn’t care if it were all gray. But this is a patchwork job, and I don’t like it.”
