Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran led the American League to a 5-3 victory over the National League in the latest edition of the Major League Baseball All-Star Game on Tuesday night.
Duran hit a two-run homer off Reds pitcher Hunter Greene to help break a 3-3 tie, continuing to showcase his elite skills in his breakout season.
The home run was Duran’s first All-Star at-bat, joining a rare group in baseball history.

Duran has been outstanding for the Red Sox this season, batting .284 with 10 home runs and 22 stolen bases, and has been a catalyst at the top of the lineup, especially with injuries to Tristan Casas, Masanao Yoshida, Tyler O’Neill and Trevor Story. With Story out for the season and Casas on the 60-day disabled list, Duran has been one of the few constants in the Red Sox lineup.
Additionally, his play has been a big factor in the Red Sox’s 53-42 record this season. They’re just 4.5 games out of the running in the American League East and currently sit in third place as a potential AL Wild Card contender.
They open their second game of the season on the road against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday.
