Ray of Hope in San Joaquin County needs help restocking their food pantry.
“Our children’s food pantry has the least amount of food left it has ever had. With no school lunches or snacks, summer has been a big hit for us,” said a social media post this week from the nonprofit Children’s Crisis Services.
In addition to food, Ray of Hope is also accepting Gatorade, water, juice, sunscreen and any liquid hydration drinks to help with hydration efforts during the recent heatwave.
Donations can be brought to the Manteca office, located at 113 W. Yosemite Ave., every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Backpack/School Supplies Donations
The Ray of Hope School Supplies Fund for Student Success is ending soon.
The annual collection of back-to-school supplies to support those working in child crisis services will run until July 31st.
“At Hope’s Closet, we collect backpacks, school supplies and clothing for teens and students,” Ray of Hope Executive Director Laura Sanders said recently.
Hope’s Closet is a Ray of Hope store that offers affordable, high-quality merchandise in a retail format.
The shop, located at 1030 W. Yosemite Ave., is open to the public and proceeds will benefit local nonprofits.
Ray of Hope encourages business associates, churches, family, friends and other groups to help with the Student Success School Supply Drive.
The other is Ray of Hope’s new Donation Spin, which is similar to the Donation Spin for the Christmas Guardian Angel program.
Instead of scrolling through wish lists, those who want to participate can receive a clothing ticket from Ray of Hope with their child’s needed clothing for school. Clothing tickets can be obtained by emailing GivingHope@rayofhopechildrensservices.org.
