Qatar Charity (QC) has teamed up with the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) to send food and medical aid to the Gaza Strip through its Jordanian office. The aid is part of Qatar Charity’s ongoing humanitarian efforts in the Gaza Strip, and is expected to help tens of thousands of people.
Qatar’s Ambassador to Jordan Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani and General Director of the Qatar Charity Office in Jordan Saleh Al Marri participated in the launch of Qatar Charity’s campaign to send food to the Gaza Strip in cooperation with JHCO, which lasted for four days.
Qatar’s aid to the people of the Gaza Strip, through Qatar Charity, includes 10,000 food packs that are expected to benefit around 50,000 beneficiaries. Each pack contains enough basic food items to feed one family for one month.
At the launch of the campaign, Ambassador Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani stressed the importance of providing assistance to our Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip, saying, “This is a humanitarian obligation that will always be fulfilled through constant coordination with our Jordanian brothers.” The Ambassador noted the importance of efforts by Jordanian-Qatari humanitarian organizations that aim to serve the mutual interests of Jordan and Qatar.
Additionally, Saleh Al Marri, General Director of the Qatar Charity Office in Jordan, participated in the delivery of medicines and medical supplies to Gaza in the presence of Mohammed Al Rashdie, First Secretary of the Qatar Embassy in Jordan, and Brigadier General Ahmed Hashem Khalifat, Head of the Jordanian Army’s Border Guard. The assistance, provided by Qatar Charity in cooperation with JHCO, included 15 tons of medicines and medical supplies.
Al Marri expressed his gratitude to Qatari donors, saying that after sending the three medical aid trucks, the organization would continue to support poor and economically disadvantaged families in Jordan and assist orphans.
On this occasion, Brigadier General Ahmed Khalifat presented a plaque to the Qatari Embassy in Jordan in appreciation of Qatar’s contributions to the humanitarian and development sector in Jordan and the region. The Brigadier General expressed his gratitude to the State of Qatar and the Qatar Charity Foundation.
It is worth noting that Qatar Charity has been providing aid to Gaza since October. The organization has delivered 1,000 tonnes of aid through 95 planes. Emergency relief projects also included more than 640,000 meals, 840 tonnes of food, and 150 tonnes of tents, shelter equipment and clothing.
