President Erdogan made the remarks at a meeting of representatives of non-governmental organizations and sectors held in Rize.
As for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, he said: “Mr Abbas should first apologise to us as we invited him and he did not come. We invited him and he did not come. We are waiting. We will see if he can come,” he said.
Highlights of President Erdogan’s remarks:
We will restore Aider to its glory with our nature conservation projects. Thank God we kept our promise. We have completed the protection and restoration project of the Aider Plateau. We have now invested the equivalent of 2,066,700,000,000 liras to restore Aider to its former glory and beauty.
Russia and Ukraine are our neighbors. Unfortunately, this war has been going on for two and a half years. Cities have been destroyed and children have been orphaned. We are working to establish peace and stability.
Israeli attack on Gaza
The same applies to our brothers who were massacred in Gaza. We took action no matter what anyone said. We are the country that sends the most aid to Gaza in terms of humanitarian aid.
Netanyahu praised in US Congress
We watched together the shameful scene in the United States House of Representatives the other day, and frankly, on behalf of humanity, we were embarrassed by what we saw.
It would be a huge spiritual blunder for America to roll out the red carpet for someone like Netanyahu, and then go even further and praise his lies until our hands are swollen.
When I see people applauding a criminal who murdered 40,000 innocent people, I worry not only for the future of humanity but for our own future.
Who can guarantee that those who destroy Gaza today will not cast a dirty eye on Anatolia tomorrow?
We are running to achieve our goal of complete independence for Turkey in the fields of economy, defense, politics, tourism, security, agriculture and other areas.
“Mr Abbas should apologise to us.”
Some parties are arguing that the government should invite the Palestinian president to Turkey and have him speak in parliament. Who said we didn’t invite you?
I feel sorry for Mr. Abbas, who did not come despite our invitation, but he should apologize to us first. We invited him, but he did not come. We are waiting to see if he can come.”
