As part of his contacts, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Azerbaijan’s President Aliyev and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Sharif in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, where he is visiting to attend the 24th Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit.
The meeting took place behind closed doors to the press at the hotel where President Erdogan was staying.
Erdogan greeted Aliyev at the start of the meeting, saying, “You are very alive, thank God,” to which Aliyev replied, “When he sees you.”
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Finance and Treasury Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, Presidential Chief of Staff for Foreign Policy and Security Affairs Akif Chachatai Kılıç, and Ambassador Akif Chachatai Kılıç also attended the meeting.

The General Directorate of Communications shared information about President Erdogan’s meeting with Aliyev and Sharif in the Kazakh capital Astana to attend the 24th Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit.
The presidential office said the tripartite meeting discussed regional and global issues as well as areas of cooperation between the countries.
President Erdogan during the meeting. He said there were common steps that Turkey, Azerbaijan and Pakistan could take in many areas that would benefit all three countries.
President Erdogan said cooperation established in areas experiencing war, conflict and tension will also contribute to regional and global peace.
Dinner to Honor Leaders
President Erdogan attended a dinner hosted by Kazakhstan’s President Kasm Chomert Tokayev to commemorate leaders’ attendance at the 24th Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit.
The informal dinner at the Kazakhstan Presidential Center was held behind closed doors to the press.
