According to a statement from NUN School, the school has successfully completed the 2023-2024 academic year and enjoyed the joy of graduating.
Established by the NUN Educational and Cultural Foundation, with founder Berat Albayrak and chairman Esra Albayrak, the school has graduating this year with 69 more students who have secured acceptance into many prestigious universities both locally and internationally since its inception.
The ceremony, held at the school, was attended by President Erdogan and his wife Emine Erdogan, as well as professors Dr. Hayrettin Karaman and Sadiq Albayrak.
The students had a touching moment.
There were emotional moments at the graduation ceremony for students who included President Erdogan’s grandson Ahmet Akif.
At the ceremony, President Erdogan said he had witnessed up close the daily growth and maturity of the convent, which was founded 10 years ago with the aim of nurturing good people who will uphold national and spiritual values just like children.
“In this excellent educational institution, which understands and works to educate in the protection of nature, we see that students are preparing for life on two wings: on the one hand, a generation that defends their spiritual values, and on the other hand, they are cultivating integrity in knowledge, will, emotions and actions,” President Erdogan said.
Giving advice to the students, President Erdogan continued:
“One must have a stance, a perspective, an understanding, a cause. Because it is not breathing or a beating heart that makes one feel alive. What makes one feel truly alive is dedicating oneself to a transcendent cause and fighting for it.” For yourself, for Turkey, as I always say, “Those who run for love never tire.” “Run with an ideal that never tires you, that keeps you up at night, that makes you want to go further.”
President Erdogan attended the graduation ceremony as a guest of honor along with his mentor, Professor Erdogan, PhD. He introduced Karaman to address the young people.
President Erdogan noted that many individuals like Karaman, who is also the recipient of the 2022 Presidential Culture and Arts Award, continue to lead by example with their attitude and enlighten their way with their ideas, as they have done in the past.
President Erdogan presents diploma to his grandson Ahmet Akif
After the speech, President Erdogan handed over the diploma to his grandson Ahmet Akif.
As the graduate students entered the area, they were accompanied by Yusel Arzen, who performed a “Sakariya folk song,” “We Made a Hole in the Wall,” adapted from a poem by Necip Fazlı Kusaklek.
Muhammad Halil, who fled to Turkey 10 years ago due to the civil war, learned Turkish here to continue his education and enrolled on a full scholarship at California Institute of Technology, one of the most prestigious engineering schools in the world, spoke on behalf of the 2023-2024 graduating class.
Khalil, who dedicated his graduation to children who had to flee their countries or who suffered genocide on their soil, told his friends that a better future was possible and that the region’s problems could be solved through unity, productivity and common purpose.
The ceremony, which also featured speeches by NUN Educational and Cultural Foundation Founder Berat Albayrak and Board Chairperson Esra Albayrak, concluded after the students were presented with their diplomas and a group photo was taken.
Meanwhile, a post from the Erdogan Digital Media account on social media platform X said, “Our country’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the graduation ceremony hosted by the convent school.” Photos from the commemorative ceremony were also enclosed with the note.
