A “plus-size” woman has been slammed on social media for posting highly specific travel tips.
Kirsty Liang is a 30-year-old woman living in the UK who describes herself as a “plus-size person” and regularly shares videos about her travel experiences, with her account having over 4.6 million likes.
She recently shared with her nearly 130,000 TikTok followers a tip for getting a second seat on a plane for free.
Women are self-proclaimed “plus-size” Barbie dolls and proud of it.
In one of her most popular videos, she spoke about “one of the biggest fears about flying as a plus-size person” and that is not knowing how much space there will be in economy class.

She said this won’t work on all flights, especially on flights that are full, but it’s worth asking.
In another video, Lianne shared a video of herself sitting straddled across three seats on the plane.
She included additional tips in the caption, including looking for airlines that don’t have seat neighbors or that operate on a capacity limit, checking in late to see if there are any open seats, and choosing a seat in a less desirable part of the plane to increase your chances of finding an open seat in a row.

She also said, “Airlines make it so hard to reserve a second seat that for years they’ve had to find ways to increase the chances of having an open seat next to you.”
“Airlines make it very difficult to reserve a second seat.”
In another TikTok video, the travel inspiration content creator and blogger pointed out that while buying an extra seat is the most recommended option, it’s not always possible for a variety of reasons.
“It’s expensive (especially when you have to pay for assigned seats) and it’s not available to everyone,” she said.
