Photo of steaming hot bread wins Food Photographer of the Year award

A photo taken in rural China of a woman preparing a huge batch of dim sum has won her the 2024 Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year award.

The photo was taken by Yang Zhonghua amid busy preparations for the Chinese New Year feast, which includes the tradition of making dim sum including red bean balls, steamed rice cakes and glutinous rice mochi, each with its own ancient artisanal techniques.

Yann’s photo also won first place in the Taittinger Champagne Celebration Cuisine category. There were 36 categories in total, and below are some of the winning entries.
