The Perry Area Emergency Food Council recently received a $25,000 donation from First Interstate Bank and the First Interstate Banksystem Foundation as part of their third annual “Believe in Local” grant campaign, which will be used to address hunger and food assistance.
“We are incredibly grateful for First Interstate’s generosity and support,” said Site Manager Lou Hoger. “This donation helps us further our mission of providing food assistance to those in dire need. We’re grateful to have a committed partner like First Interstate working with us to support and strengthen our community.”
First Interstate Bank launched its “Believe in Local” campaign in 2022 to celebrate the bank’s longstanding commitment to the communities it serves. Each year, 40 nonprofit organizations across the bank’s 14-state footprint receive $25,000 in donations to support their mission. The Perry Area Emergency Food Council was nominated by local First Interstate employees and selected from more than 550 applications due to its alignment with the bank’s philanthropic goals.
“Giving back to the place we call home is at the heart of who we are as a community bank,” said Sarah Cerwinski, Director of Financial Services. “Our ‘Believe in Local’ grant campaign lives our core values and is the ideal way to honor the nonprofits that make the greatest positive impact. We are pleased to have the opportunity to further support the Perry Area Emergency Food Council in their work to make our community a better place to live, work and raise a family.”
In addition to campaigns like “Believe in Local,” First Interstate annually gives 2% of its pre-tax profits in donations and grants to local communities. These funds help improve workforce development, promote early childhood education, alleviate poverty and support nonprofit organizations.
