Penn Community Bank has partnered with Bucks County Housing Group to help provide urgently needed items to local food pantries. The $5,000 donation will support the ability to purchase both fresh and nonperishable foods for the organization’s food programs, which include two community food pantries and two mobile markets that provide a food pantry experience in locations where regular pantries are not available.
“At Penn Community Bank, we are committed to supporting the communities we serve,” said Jeane M. Vidoni, president and CEO of Penn Community Bank. “We are proud to partner with Bucks County Housing Group in addressing food insecurity in our area. This donation will enable us to restock our food pantries and mobile stores with nutritious options for those in need and help everyone in our community thrive.”
“We are fortunate to have reliable and generous community partners, but as summer approaches, donations to our food programs typically decline. Combined with rising food prices, this poses challenges for those who use our services,” said Steven Keller, BCHG Food Programs Manager. “Penn Community Bank’s generous support will no doubt help alleviate seasonal challenges and enable us to continue serving our local residents. We are incredibly grateful for their support.”
Bucks County Housing Group is the largest homeless services provider in Bucks County. In a typical year, BCHG distributes more than $1 million in food to more than 20,000 individuals through its food pantries.
