How does the legal process work?
The government has undertaken a study to increase the basic monthly salary from TL 10,000 to TL 12,500. The relevant provisions have been referred to Parliament under Article 29 of the Bill on Amendments to the Tax Code and Certain Laws, which is currently before Parliament.
The relevant regulations have been passed by the Planning and Budget Committee. The Act will become law on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette together with the President’s signature after being presented to Parliament in full session.

When drafting legal provisions, the final provisions are written based on the date of implementation. It can be said that Article 29 of the 53rd Law will come into effect from the payment deadline of July 2024, and will be implemented without prolonging the loss of rights of retirees.
