During the Basic Proficiency Test, the first session of the higher education institution examinations held by ÖSYM in Sivas on June 8, a candidate suffered an epileptic seizure.
Several candidates at the venue came to the aid of the candidate in danger and escorted him out of the venue.
2 According to ÖSYM regulations, the remaining time in the exam should be added, but the addition of 15 seconds by the hall director and the exam supervisor did not satisfy candidates.
In response to the application from the parents, ÖSYM offered the candidates the option to either give them extra points if they wished or to retake the equivalent exam. The candidates asked to retake the exam. The YKS exam was organised by ÖSYM today at Cumhuriyet University Primary School in Sivas for eight candidates.

The 8-person exam was no different from the general exam. Police officers conducted a physical search of candidates entering the building. Items prohibited from being brought into the exam hall were not allowed to be brought into the exam hall.
After ÖSYM officials checked IDs and exam entry documents, the candidates were taken to the hall.A total of 12 people participated in the exam for the eight students: one building manager, one assistant, one building manager, one facilities manager, two janitors, two police officers, two extra monitors, one hall chairman and an ÖSYM representative.

It was my first time in Türkiye.
The YKS exam that eight of us took was different from the general exam only in terms of numbers. There was also a mock exam, which was equivalent to the general exam. The doors to the hall were closed at 10:00. Eight of the eight candidates were seated in the hall. While they were sweating at their desks, their families were excitedly waiting outside for the exam to finish.
The application, carried out by ÖSYM, was the first of its kind in Türkiye.

Ahmet Yıldırım, whose child took the exam, expressed his gratitude to ÖSYM, saying: “A student fell ill during the exam. 30-40 minutes were lost due to the confusion. ÖSYM has resolved the students’ dissatisfaction with the decision to retake the exam,” he said.

Murat Akpinar, father of Melike Naz Akpinar, who took the exam, said that ÖSYM had refunded the student’s rights, saying, “Our children’s time was wasted because of students who were in crisis during the exam. We filed the necessary protest. So ÖSYM returned the student’s rights. Therefore, we would like to thank all the people involved. I think the exam results will be announced soon because the number of people is small. I don’t know what route to take at the placement point. “I hope that the support will be provided so that students do not feel inconvenienced in finding a job,” he said.
