Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the status of Al-Aqsa Mosque would remain unchanged, contrary to statements by National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir.
“The status of the Temple Mount (Masjid Al-Aqsa) has not changed and will remain so,” Netanyahu said, according to a statement from the prime minister’s press office.
Israel’s far-right Minister of National Security Ben Gvir shared on his X account a speech he gave at a “March of the Flags” program held in West Jerusalem on the anniversary of Israel’s occupation of East Jerusalem in 1967.
