Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinul Özdemir Göktaş announced that social assistance payments will also increase along with the civil servant salary coefficient for July.
In parallel with the coefficient regulation, social assistance payments will also increase.
Göktaş explained that the home care allowance has increased from $7,608 to $9,077, and said, “We will increase the monthly pension allowance for citizens with an old-age pension report of 70 percent or more and with a disability report from $4,196 to $9,077. 5,077.” he said.
Marriage loans are expanding in scope
Answering questions from journalists during a high-speed train trip from Ankara to Konya, Minister Göktaş also made important remarks about the Family and Youth Fund.
Göktaş said the Family and Youth Fund, which was piloted in the earthquake areas, would be expanded to Bartin, Karabük, Zonguldak and Kütahya, areas with low birth rates.
Göktaş said the number of applications had increased to 10,111, adding that the number of couples who benefited from the loans was 20,385,000.
Falling birth rate
Göktaş also called attention to Turkey’s declining birth rate and said he would launch a major field study to determine its causes. “We are creating a focus group consisting of the Ministry of Social Security and Labor, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance,” Göktaş said.
