Normally, Andre Richards would be selling dinners at Capitol. His truck is gone. But in the past 24 hours, GOFUNDME has raised more than $34,000 to help him get back on his feet. What did you lose on Monday? That day, you lost part of your dream. Andre Richards’ life changed forever when a driver crashed into his food truck on Monday night. I was closing up shop, getting ready to drive out the last of my orders when I felt a big bang that sent me flying from behind to the front. Milwaukee Police say a 28-year-old woman rear-ended the truck. Police arrested her on suspicion of drunk driving, but Richards lost everything, but he had no hatred in his heart. Do you think you can forgive this woman? I’m alive. She’s alive. You know, you know. This is an unfortunate situation. And you know, I don’t wish anything bad on anyone. I didn’t do anything to anyone. Shortly after the accident, a man approached Richards, trying to help a stranger. You know, you know, he was a nice guy. I was just sitting there, and he came to me and decided to help. That help came in the form of a GoFundMe organized by Anthony M. So far, more than $34,000 has been raised in one day. “Going through that situation. And working every day, I never expected to raise that much money in 24 hours,” Richards says. “Because of the generosity of this community, his dream will live on. Gumbo Valley will be up and running.” I’ve been doing this for about four years, and I plan to keep doing it.And Cyreia Richards is carrying on a family tradition. So this truck is very important to him. Patrick Richards said he grew up watching his grandma cook. So this is really his passion. Now he has business insurance so a lot of his equipment is covered. But this GoFundMe money is going to help him. Mike Lee, wow. That amount is just growing. Cyreia Sandlin live from Milwaukee tonight. Here’s how the damage to the truck looks.
