Meral Akşener’s visit to President Erdoğan | Dervisoğlu: “I should have been accepted as an interlocutor”
“I didn’t know about the meeting, I found out later.”
Dervisoğlu said she had not previously been aware of President Akşener Erdoğan’s meeting, and said she found out about it through the General Public Relations Directorate’s posts on social media. Dervisoğlu said she told him about it after Akşener left the meeting, and that she said the meeting meant no harm to him. She also said that Akşener said he had exchanged views about Turkiye during his meeting with Erdoğan.
Dervisoğlu stressed that the meeting was not positive, saying, “What concerns me is that Erdoğan met with Akşener when I was the head of the Cīyi Party. I should have been accepted as an interlocutor. If anyone dares to try, let them go to Hasan Mountain to get wood without looking at the scale. They may see an unexpected reaction, I am the chairman of this party, I will not tolerate such actions. It disrupts the party’s past, present and future.”
