MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) – A man was caught on camera crashing his truck into a food truck at the Cordova Pit Stop Food Truck Park Friday evening.
Two men were injured in the incident and another remains in prison.
According to court records, police were called to Macon Road, and when officers arrived, the two victims told police Alton Turner had been drinking alcohol at a nearby bar.
One of the victims, food truck owner Mark Mohmer, told Action News 5 over the phone that he told a nearby bar to stop serving Turner alcohol because he thought Turner was becoming aggressive.
“He was drunk and aggressive. There are kids and families over there. So I told the person next to me not to give him any more drinks because I can’t stand him,” Ms Mohmer said.
According to court records, Maumer said Turner was upset that he wasn’t allowed to drink alcohol at the bar and began causing a disturbance at the food truck.
During the phone conversation, Maumer said things escalated when Turner began calling him names.
“He was like, you told them not to give me a drink and I said I did it because you’re belligerent and you don’t know how to handle alcohol. I said, actually, you need to leave,” Mohmer explained. “Then he let out the ‘N’ bomb.”
He said an altercation and argument ensued, and Turner then left, got into a Ford F-250, crashed through a fence and drove the truck toward Momar, according to court documents.
“The guy grabbed his car keys and walked over again and said, ‘Stay there, I’m going to my truck and I’m going to kill you’ and he went flying through the fence, straight through the deck, pushed the other guy who was with him, Jamarcus, off him and jumped into the food truck. He hit me hard and I hit the food truck,” he said.
Mommer told Action News Five he is recovering, but his food truck was vandalized after the incident Friday evening.
Turner is in jail on $75,000 bail, according to jail records. He’s been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of attempted second-degree murder, according to court records.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, May 27th at 9 a.m.
