What will be the minimum pension?
Certified public accountant Ahmet Kurtulus said in a live CNN Turkey broadcast: “For about two years, the minimum pension has been revised and the practice has been that the basic salary of pensioners is paid by the Ministry of Finance,” making the basic salary lower than the minimum pension.
The current minimum pension is TL 10,000. This figure is expected to increase to between TL 12,500 and TL 13,000.

Economist Muhammed Bayram made the following remarks during his speech: “Currently, the minimum pension is kept constant at TL 10,000. We are waiting for new regulations. This will be on the agenda as long as parliament is in session. An inflation difference of 19.31 percent was reflected in retired civil servants. SSK and Bakr retirees had a difference of 24.73 percent. This was synchronized before and will probably be synchronized in this package too.”
The lowest pension recipient receives TL 10,000. In a big city like Istanbul, it is impossible to live on a rent of just TL 10,000.
The current salary increase is based on the basic salary. Those with a basic salary of 8.17 TL have already had theirs increased to 10,000 TL. Retirees can log in to e-Government to find out what their basic salary is.
We expect the 10,000TL to reach at least 12,500 or so, which is the last significant proportional increase.
A minimum pension of 15,000 would be a relief. A minimum pension of 15,000TL would be close to the minimum wage. My minimum estimate is around 12,500, and the expected expectation is around 15,000TL.
