NEWPORT — The second annual Celebrate Lake Memphremagog event, hosted by “Don’t Undermine Memphremagog’s Purity,” will be held Tuesday, June 25, at Eastside Restaurant on Lake Memphremagog in Newport.
The event aims to bring together the international lake community and celebrate the importance of the lake, also known as the jewel of the Northeast Kingdom.

The celebration will feature live music from Eastern Townships guitar hero Mike Goudreau and the Mike Goudreau Band, comprised of some of the Northeast Kingdom’s finest musicians, including Gary Matthews on bass, Gabe Jarrett on drums and Matt Dolliver on saxophone. The band will perform from 6-9 p.m., and attendees will be dancing the night away.
Popular food trucks Smokin’ Blue Devil and Runaway Tomato will kick off the event from 5-8pm and will be serving up delicious fare for everyone to enjoy.
Organizer Henry Coe highlighted the importance of the event, saying, “Lake Memphremagog is treasured by people for its unparalleled beauty, fantastic recreational opportunities and as a cornerstone of the local economy. Every effort to protect the lake contributes to a better quality of life for all of us, locals and visitors alike. Last year’s celebration was a great success and is worth holding again.”
